  • This Paper devotes meshless local Petrov-Galerkin method to magnetotelluric two-dimensional forward modeling. Its basic principle was introduced. From magnetolelluric 2-D boundary values, using subdomain method, the corresponding weak equation of local Petrov-Galerkin is derived and discreted by gauss integral method. The advantages and disadvantages of meshless local Petrov-Galerkin method are discussed in comparison with element-free Galerkin method and finite element method. At last, the validity of the algorithm is verified by two-dimensional model calculations.
