  • Coal gas dynamics is a frontier geoscience that makes a special study of the law for gas flow and the pressure distribution in coal seam of gaslogged strata as well as gas dynamic variation.Applying the new view of gas-geology,the author has expounded the mechanism for methane gas flow and the pressure distributions in coal seam. Then the new dynamic models for gas flow in coal seam have been systematically set up and developed. And the new theory applying in prevention of gas in collieries has been explored as well as some of the new fundamental advance in coal gas dynamics have been acheived.Based on in-situ measured parameters of coal gas dynamics, five kinds of the dynamic models for gas flow in coal seam have been simulated by computers. The results of the comparison revealed that both the new linear and nonlinear theories for coal gas dynamics are closer to the actual situation than another three kinds of existing theories. Then, the new analytic models for gas flow in coal seam have been presented in order to predict the variation law for methane gas flow out of coal seam and exploite the resources of gas in both coal seam and gas-logged strata.
