Forecasting of water abundance of coal roof sandstone aquifer in Jining No.3 mine

  • Considering the low degree of hydrologic exploration and the limited number of pumping test in the seventh mining district of Jining No.3 mine, quantitative analysis was carried out on the roof aquifer from two aspects: the lithology structure characteristics and tectonic development features. Firstly, the factors, such as sandstone thickness, the numbers of sandstone and mudstone, core recovery percentage and the percent of sandstone in the strata, were considered synthetically to build the lithology structure index. Secondly, the tectonic characteristics of faults were quantitatively analyzed by fractal dimension. Then, the comprehensive evaluation model of water abundance index was established through information recombination. Zonation of water abundance was made for seam roof aquifer. The evaluation results were verified by actually measured specific capacity and good results have been achieved.
