Distinctive properties and utilization way of kaolinite in Zhahe mining area, Huaibei

It is studied that a kaolinite bed located between No.5 and No.6 coal seams at the bottom of Xiashihezi Formation in Zhahe mining area,Huaibei,by means of differential thermal analysis,X-ray diffractogram,infrared spectroscopic analysis.The study results show that this kaolinite bed consists of roughly pure kaolinite mineral ores with average depth of 3.8 m,in which the content of Al₂O₃ is generally 36%-39%,but Fe₂O₃ is 0.78%-1.71%,TiO₂ is 0.49%-0.97%.It is proved that this kind of kaolinite can be favorably used for making chemical products and calcining kaoline.
