Abstract
The zones different in width,in which the optical textures of the coals were more or less changed, were formed when the magma various in properties intruded the coals different incipient rank. This paper emphasised that the vacuoles were the characteristic of the thermally altered coals and explained the optical properties and geneses of the pyrolytic carbon and mesophase. In addition, the existence of the pyrolytic carbon is thought to be the magma existing nearby.
