THE ENGINEERING GEOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF RED SOIL IN INNER一MONGOLIA AND ENGIN EERING IMPROVEMENT METHOD

The red soil in open- pit mine in Inner -Mongolia has specifical engineering geological properties and limits the utilizable function of mining and hauling equipments. The proper engineering improvement method should be multiple,that is to say, according as the various properties of red soils, the Sumping Method, the Replacement Method and the Geotextile Method may be adopted respectively.
