TP wavelet and its applications to analysis of seismic data of thin interbeds

In seismic data analysis of thin interbeds, we use TP wavelet as analyzing wavelet with appropriately choosing parameters of TP wavelet according to properties of seismic signals of thin interbeds and let it be suitable for analyzing signals containing not only slowly varying frequency and amplitude components, but also rapidly varying ones. This method can characterize the deposit gyration of thin interbeds and explore local structure of thin interbeds. Its effectiveness is proved by model and field data and hopefully becomes a powerful method in exploration of rock properties after further development.
