CHINAS COAL RESOURCE DISTRIBUTION AND PERSPECTIVE PREDICTION

  • The status of Chinas coal resource distrbution and perspective prediction were discussed, based on the third national coalfield predictional data, sponsored by China Nation Administration of coalfield geology. The majority of China's coal resources are Carboniferrous-Permian and Jurassic age, forming coal abundent areas between Taihang Mountain and Helanshan Mountain, including Shaanxi Province shanxi Province,Nei Monggol Autonomous Region,Hingxia Autonomous Region and the north part to Talimu River of Xinjiang Autonomous Region,as well as the south Sichuan Province, the west Guizhou Province and the east of Yunman Province. The distributions of coal types are not balancwd. In the light of analyses on regional distrlbution, buried depth and coal types,it is concluded that only 64% predicted resources can be provided to be conducted further exploration recently, the potential is higher in coal resource abundant areas than the areas lack of coal resources. Some south developed provinces have no perspective for coal exploration.Above stated researches would provide resource basis for 21th century's national development programme of coal industry.
