THE CLASTIC TEMPESTITES IN LOWER CARBONIFROUS OF CENTRAL HUNAN

The clastic tempestites in Lower Carboniferous Shaodong and Ceshui Formations are first reported.The tempestites in Ceshui Formation consist of quartz arenites and siltstones with the hummocky cross stratification,and in Shaodong Formation consit of siltstones and muddy shell beds with the ripple lamination and graded bedding.They were formed in the foreshore shoreface and offshore muddy shelf environments.
