Sequence stratigraphic correlation between Shanwang Formation in Shanwang basin and upper Guantao Formation in Jiyang depression

With the typical sequence stratigraphic theories the sequence stratigraphic correlation between Shanwang Formation in Shanwang basin and upper Guantao Formation in Jiyang depression are performed. The study results, including field observation, palaeotologic correlation, the geophysical study and other collected data, indicated that the stratigraphic frameworks of two basins are similar. They are of great comparability in sides of structural movement, sedimentary origins, eustastic regression, palaeo-climate. The Shawang basin is located in the area where is one of important sedimentary origins. This natural correlation of sedimentary system may cause the similar sequence stratigraphic framework between Sanwang Formation and upper Guantao Formation.
