Abstract
The analysis method that can exactly reflect the characteristics of ground motion transmitting is the basis for describing seismic response of rock mass.Based on explicit wave motion finite element method(FEM),a new method was suggested by using an elastic-viscoplastic constitutive model which considered the effect of strain rate on dynamic properties of rock mass.According to this method,a computation program was compiled and was applied in the analysis of uniform rock slope. The slope displacement and stress response to the input of EL-CENTRO wave were calculated.Through comparison with the results of visco-elastic model, the validity of program was verified. The results showed that the new method could be reasonably applied to the calculation of permanent dis-placements and residual stresses of rock slope under earthquake ground motion.
