THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN FRACTAL DIMENSION OF ROCK TEXTURE AND COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH

The fractal geometry theory and methods are used for studing rock texture of coal seam roof.The study shows that the rock grains structure and pore structure are self-similarity. And there are well correlative between fractal dimension of rock texture and compressive strength. It may be possible that fractal dimention of rock texture can express rock compressive strength.
