  • Using the well and seismic data, the occurrence and distribution of coal beds in Huhehu depression are predicted in this paper. Moreover, the thermal evolution degree of coal bed and measured gas abnormity are determined, and combined with parameters of gas content, the resource prospect of coalbed gas is evaluated. The results indicated that the amount of coalbed gas resource of Huhehu depression is about 7.43×1011m3 and is far greater than that of the whole northeastern China evaluated by precursors. The depth of the Daer section is moderate, and it is advantageous section for exploratory development of coalbed gas.The depth of Naner section is mostly about 2000 m,but its resource quantity is the most, for which we should strengthen exploration research in future. The comparison with American coal-bearing basins where the coalbed gas has been exploited successfully shows that Huhehu depression is worth of recognition.
