Application of GOCAD in 3D visual simulation of rock mass

  • The GOCAD is a 3D visualization modeling software mainly used in the field of geology,with a pow-erful 3D modeling,visualization,geological interpretation and analysis functions.It provides multiple restrictive functions,facilitating the arbitrary surface shape edit,accurately simulation of terranes trends and mutual contacts relationship.Combined with the thorough understanding of CAD technology and a lot of programming experience,with the help of CAD graphics environment platform to analyze and couple multi-source geological data,the au-thors establish a 3D geological model of some stratum,in Guizhou Province and also explore to transform GOCAD model into a CAD model,resulting in attribute information can be attached to graphics in CAD and attributes of the entire region can be derived and showed clearly,which can provide direct reference for engineering workers to de-sign and layout project.
