  • Based on the convolutional model of seismogram,the physical meanings of wavelet transform in seismogram are discussed It is found that selecting suitably the wavelet function and scale factor a,the wavelet transform for seismogram is corresponding to the spectrum whitening of seismogram It is characterized by the higher calculating speed,easy selection of parameters,and the best compromise between S/N and resolution for reflected waves coming from reflectors at different depths the efficiency of the method has been proved by modelling and case calculating result.
