Abstract
Coal-bearing deposits including five coal cycles were formed in the middle stage of the evolution of Shibeiling basin in the eastern margin of Songliao. The coal cycles are made up of coarsed (fluvial) and fine (swamp) deposits, and the formation and coal accumulation of 7th and 6th cycles were controlled by tectonic (volcanic)-sedimentary factors. The study of coal cycles is significant for dividing parasequences in the analyses of sequence stratigraphy.
