THE GEOLOGICAL EVOLUTION AND SIGNIFICANCE OF YIMA FAULT ZONE

  • Yima fault zone is the border faults between Qinling fault-fold zone and fault block of North in China. It includes a series of approximately parallel thrust faults. It’s hanging are Ordorician-Precambrian strata and footwall are Carboniferous-Cretaceous system. Yima fault zone moved for a long history:It origined in Variscan movement, instentely moved in Indosinian movement and take shaped in Yanshanian movement. With the elapse of time, the fault zone developed from south to north, but formed thrust faults along coal seam and the order strata of hanging floated on the coal seam. It is possible there is sure amount of coal under the hanging.
