To counter the problems in the design of SQ70, SQ81 wire-1ine core tools used in coal exploration, the paper introduced the new-developed SQ89 too1, its structural features and its improevment in rod, spring and 1ifting cone.In addition, some problems were discussed which should be poied attention to in he opcration of SQ89.
