  • In this paper experimental research on dependence of penetration rate and power consumption for rock fragmentation upon drilling parameters is done in drilling marble and granite with experimental planning method by PDC crown. Mathematical models of the penetration rate and power consumption for rock fragmentation are obtained. Concepts of absolute power consumption and relative power consumption are suggested, considering that the later is more important than the former. Optimal drilling parameters on condition of minimum relative power consumption are calculated.
