Seepage field analysis for water burst of roof on working face

  • The whole process of water burst of roof, which results from cracks growing upwards and extending into aquifer in course of coal progressive mining, was simulated in this paper by Coupling System of Flow and Solid in Rock Failure Process Analysis (F-RFPA2D), which is developed by the Center for Rock Instability and Seismicity Research of Northeastern University. It visually shows the deformation, failure process of rock strata overlying stope, the transfer of seepage field in rock strata and its change before and after water burst, so it is very useful for the design of stope and the prevention of water burst.
