DEPOSITIONAL ENVIRONMENT AND SULFUR DISTRIBUTION OF HIGH-SULFUR COAL IN WUDA MINING AREA

  • The horizontal distrbution of depositional facies,coal facies and sulfur of high-sulfur coals in Wuda coal mining area are analyzed in this paper.The results show that there was a distinct influence of paleodrainage pattern on the sulfur distribution during the peat accumulating of coal seam No.10.The sulfur distribution of coal seam No.9 was influenced by the paleoenvironment during peat accumulation.The coal formed in shallow shelf or interdistributary bay has high values of GI,TPI and sulfur content,whereas the coal formed in barrier sand bar has high content sulfur and low values of GI and V/I,and the coal formed in lagoon has high values of GI and V/I and relatively low sulfur content.
