Coalbed methan resource prediction in lignite-distributed areas in China

  • The coalbed methan(CBM) resoureces in lignite and its development potential evaluation are lack in China.In order to supplement the result of China CBM resources prediction,in this paper the calculation result of in-place CBM resources in lignite-distributed area is as much as 13 954.65×108 m3 by volumetric method and its technically recoverable resource is calculated by lost-volume analytical method.Combining the result of the national CBM resources evaluation,for the land coal field of China the in-place CBM resources of 32.86×1012 m3 at shallower than 2 000 m depth is predicted completely.
