  • A method for selecting wells and coal seams to be stimulated is suggested by according to the geology and reservoir characteristics of Xinji Area. It is convinced of sure that 2% KCl water and Lanzhou sands should be the first selections used hydraulic fracture fluid and proppant in Xinji Area by having down eight treatments for eight coal seams of the three pilot wells. On the base of utilization of advanced software doing design before treatment,real-time analysis during treatment and simulation after treatment, the highest gas production rate is as high as 3 278 m3/d by good planning and prompt operating for fracture jobs. All of the results will provide a basic technology for coalbed methane development in future in this area.
