An automatic mining method based on GIS modeling for fully mechanized coal face

  • In view of the various characteristics of coal occurrence conditions, an automated coal mining method of fully-mechanized coal face based on Geographic Information System(GIS) modeling technology was proposed, that is to get the geological drilling data from the area to be mined and establish the 3D GIS coal mining model. When tunneling in the face cross-heading, 3D GIS coal mining model is modified according to the change of roof and floor. The shearer could cut coal automatically based on the distribution of roof and floor fixed by the coal mining model. In cutting process, the model is revised by monitoring the data change in the roof and floor in real time through active power, vibration, torque, image, etc. This method obtained the national invention patent in 2016. It provides an effective way to realize unmanned mining for fully-mechanized coal face in China.
