Characteristic and classification of landslide in Shanxi coal mine area

  • Landslide classification research is the foundation and emphasis of landslide research. Through a plenty of survey analysis and investigations of engineering practice of landslide geological disasters in Shanxi coal mining area, we summarize five types of landslides according to stratigraphic, lithological, motion features and inducing mechanism:over-sliding loess landslides along the bedrock surface; creep-extrusion loess landslides; water invasion slippery loess landslides; coal seam to spontaneous overturning-tension crack sliding rock landslide; Creep-extensional faulting rock landslides subject to joints control. According to the research, results are as follows:loess in sliding zone is commonly loose soil, the sliding surface of rocky landslide is weak structural plane (thin mudstone) or coal; except for the skid type loess landslide, others are low-speed landslides, of which typical characteristic is that it lasted long and has a short total displacement and a small effect range, but the landslide thrust is strong and destructive, which may cause more damage. The study refines the content of landslide classification, which can be a prevention guide to the similar landslide geological disaster in Shanxi mining area.
