Abstract
The statistical analysis of the distribution characteristics of coal and gas outbursts over years in coal mines with coal and gas ousbursts in Zhengzhou mining area showed that extruction and shear action of NNE-NE and NNE-NE trending superposed and sliding structures has evidently controlled the coal and gas outbursts in Zhengzhou mining area. With Wuzhiling fault and Fanzhai fault as boundary, mines with outbursts and gaseous mines are distributed in NW-trending zone, the coal and gas outburst mines such as Daping mine and Chaohua mine are located in the zone of superposed structures in the south of the mining area, and outbursts occurred mostly in the area where tectonic extruction and shear were intense.
