Ground subsidence and its environment problems in Yushenfu mining area

  • The paper clarified the ground subsidence characteristic derived from coal mining and its environment problems in Shenmu County by remote sensing interpretation and field investigation. There are 30 palaces where larger area ground subsidence have been found. The paper explained its distribution, development and scale. The ground subsidence derived from high intensity coal mining were of medium size, worse stability and small danger level. The paper discussed the ground subsidence characteristic of typical town and coal mine, including Shigetai Village, Yushenlu coal mine, Shegeda village, Yujialiang coal mine, Houliuta Village, Shagoumao Village. The geological environment problems caused by ground subsidence had become increasingly prominent, up to April 30, 2015, it has led to 48 collapse earthquakes of amplitude 1.5 to 3.3, and induced regional groundwater drawdown, springs and wells dried up, rivers and ground water area were shrinking, and thus produced a series of ecological and environmental problems.
