Analysis of enrichment conditions and favorable areas of shale gas in Shanxi Formation in Huainan coalfield

  • According to the mudstone distribution of Shanxi Formation in Huainan coalfield, combined with borehole data and experimental data, the paper summarizes shale gas enrichment conditions of Shanxi Formation, uses GIS and multi-level fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method to analyze the advantageous areas of Shanxi Formation. The results show that the mudstone of Shanxi Formation is ticker, high abundance of organic matter, the organic matter type is mainly of Ⅱ2, and pores in the mudstone are developed; comparing with the general marine mudstone dominated by quartz, which is less in Shanxi Formation, the content of feldspar minerals is lower, which is unfavorable for the exploitation of shale gas; Favorable exploration areas of shale gas can be divided into four types, the southeast region, Gudianxiang-Guqiaozhen-Guijizhen-Yuezhangjizhen area and Yanglouxiang area have higher comprehensive evaluation value, above 0.56, are excellent advantageous development areas.
