High-order implicit finite difference numerical simulation of acoustic wave equation

  • The paper derived implicit solution method for solving differential equations and coefficient of acoustic space of the second derivative of the equation, discussed numerical frequency dispersion characteristics of this method. Using this method, Marmousi model and homogeneous medium were simulated numerically. The results were analyzed and compared with the result obtained by traditional explicit difference scheme. The result showed that this method was lower in numerical dispersion and more accurate in calculation.
