Abstract
When the number of microseismic events is large, traditional double difference algorithm is not suitable for location because of huge amount of data storage. To solve this problem, we propose a new microseismic source localization algorithm-hybrid difference positioning method, which combines the advantages of the double difference algorithm and Geiger positioning method. It not only reduces greatly data storage capacity, but also is insensitive to the initial position of the source. Model data and actual microseismic data verify the validity and practicability of the method.
