  • Based on the MAPGIS and SURFER software, we have carried out the vectorization and the correction of topographic map and have extracted topographic elevation data with MAPGIS software. Then, we generated the model of ground surface and the top surface of coal seam with SURFER software. Finally, subtracting the two curved surfaces obtained as described above, we used the third curved surface to draw the burial depth isoline map of coal seam. This figure can truly reflect the real depth at any point in the exploration area. The figure can also correctly guide the rational development of coal seam.
