Characteristics of CBM reservoir in Huangling-Longxian coalfield

  • Based upon large amounts of measurement data of desorption and well test, studies of the reservoir parameters such as the gas content, the permeability, the reservoir pressure, the minimum principal stress in Huangling-Longxian coalfield were conducted. The results show that the gas content and the permeability are relatively high, the ground stress is relatively low, the gas content, the reservoir pressure and the minimum principal stress are positively correlated to the burial depth of coal seams, the permeability and the minimum principal stress are negatively correlated, relationship between the permeability and the seam depth is not obvious, the influence of the minimum principal stress on the reservoir pressure is evident. From the integral analysis, it is considered that Binxian and Jiaoping mining area with relatively high CBM content and permeability are favorable block for CBM exploitation.
