  • A dynamic loading equipment was made to study the load bearing capacity and deformation law of model pile under periodic load. In this paper the horizontal periodic load tests of two model piles with different plate position were carried out in the self-made soil box. The influence of the load amplitude, loading frequency, position of plate on the pile section moment and soil pressure were researched. The results show that the moment in pile body and the maximum moment increase with the increasing of load amplitude, and the soil pressure also increase at the same time. With the increase of the loading frequency, the moment in pile body increases firstly but decreases later, and the soil pressure keeps increasing. For the two model piles with different plate position, the moment in pile body and the soil pressure of the pile with plate nearer pile top are less than that of the other pile. Those results may be used in the practical engineering.
