Evaluation of Triassic coal resource development potential in Zichang-Yanchuan mining area

  • In order to make full use of petroleum and coal resources and carry out reasonable and efficient development, the coal resource potential of the Triassic Yanchang Formation (member Chang 1) in Zichang-Yanchuan mining area was evaluated by a series of methods based on analysis of coal distribution and accumulation law. The results show that the coal resources in place of the two coal seam groups(No.3 & No.5) are 44.87×108 t and the recoverable resources are 33.89×108 t; the area has goodness of 78.32 points in the development potential, is a favorable target with relatively simple structure and good development conditions. The study results of this paper have laid down a foundation for petroleum and coal resources co-exploration and economic benefit improvement in the mining area.
