Drilling test of new type of hot pressed tungsten carbide and iron-based diamond bit

  • A part of WC in the matrix of the traditional hot pressed tungsten carbide based diamond bit is replaced by Fe. The new type of hot pressed tungsten carbide and iron-based diamond bits were designed by using optimal matrix formulas calculated by regression analyses and nonlinear programming of EXCEL and then manufactured to perform drilling test in rock with drillability of 8. The tests yielded good effect.
