Coalbed fracture prediction based on damped least square algorithm with P-wave attributes

  • Based on macro bin P-wave attributes variation with azimuth, the coalbed fracture zone of coalbed 3 in Fowa mining area has been studied by utilizing damped least square algorithm. In the process, the effect of different initial damping factors in the final results is analyzed, and the initial damping factor λis deemed to range between 120 and 200. By comparing the corresponding relation between the coalbed fracture zone and the coalbed floor structure, the calculation strategy described in the paper is confirmed to be effective, and the selection method of damping factor can be also a reference for other mining areas.
