Mine water resource evaluation: with Fuxin mining area as an example

  • In order to reasonably exploit and utilize mine water resources, considering the research characteristics and development trend of current water resource evaluation, taking mine water and ecosystem as a whole, the paper proposed the concept of mine water resource evaluation. At the same time, theories and methods of the mine water resources evaluation aiming at ecology were developed. Its connotation, research aspects and technical system were also explained. In the view of four aspects, i.e., water quality, water quantity, pollution, conditions of mine water exploitation & utilization, the theoretical research and application achievements of mine water resource evaluation were illustrated by combining mathematical theory, laboratory experiment, field monitoring and practical engineering application, taking Fuxin, a typical mining city with water shortage in northeast China as an example. Through the evaluation of Fuxin mining area for water quality, water quantity, pollution and utilization condition of mine water, we found that the mine water should be utilized as resource to solve water shortage problem of the mining area, simultaneously the pollution of ground water by mine water should be controlled.
