Coalfield structural framework and coal controlling structure styles in Chongqing

  • Chongqing area is located in central Sichuan basin of Yangtze block, basement thrust zone of Micang-Daba Mountain and passive fringe thrust zone of southern Yangtze block. Tectonics framework and structural evolution history are very complex, multiple staged structural action have formed northeastern Chongqing NW-NWW-NW and northwestern Chongqing-eastern Chongqing-southeastern Chongqing NE-NNE-NW morphological characteristics. Based on coalfield structural framework in Chongqing area, the paper analyzed the coal controlling structure style, expounded their impact extent to coal measures hosting, Research shows that structure styles controlling coal are mainly compressed tectonic, coalbed occurs mainly at two wings of folds.
