  • 3D VSP forward modeling plays an important role in the study of 3D VSP survey design, 3D VSP wave field analysis and 3D VSP migration.Based on 3D one-way wave equation, we used Fourier finite-difference (FFD)operator based on ADI plus interpolation(ADIPI), achieved 3D VSP forward modeling and avoided the azimuthal anisotropy error resulted from two-way splitting in 3D situation. This mothed can not only improve computation efficiency and ensure the modeling precision, but also simulate pure upward wave or downward wave according to the situation. The modeling test results verified the feasibility and efficiency of the proposed method.
