  • Based on the hydrogeological condition analysis for a mine area in Huaibei, choosing SO42-, Cl-, TDS and total hardness as the assessment factors, taking GB/T14848-93《Quality Standard for Ground Water》as the assessment standard, the authors respectively applied the Nemerow index method and the fuzzy math method to assess groundwater environmental quality in the major aquifers of this mine area. The assessment results show that the water quality of the first group aquifer in this mine area is fairly good, suitable for industrial water source and drinking water source in the area. But both the second group and the lower group aquifers can be the sources of drinking water after appropriate treatment.
