Application of seismic faces analysis in detecting the magmatic intrusion zones

  • In coal lithology interpretation, the impedance inversion and seismic attribute techniques are usually used. However, the problem is that the overall variations and distributions of seismic signal are always missed. The seismic faces analysis, based on waveform, utilizes all kinds of seismic information, including frequency, phase, velocity and energy, and classifies seismic faces according to the whole difference of seismic signal. This paper has introduced seismic faces analysis methods into 3D seismic lithology interpretation of coal mine, meanwhile, several pilot geological achievements have been made in magmatic delineation of instruction zones.
