One-dimensional non-linear consolidation theory of double layer soft soil

Through the theoretical analysis of non-linear variation of consolidation coefficient,non-linear govern-ing equations of consolidation coefficient were deduced,and influence of y was studied.Considering the variation of consolidation coefficient,permeability coefficient and compressibility,meanwhile,the consolidation equations were difficult to be solved,one-dimensional non-linear consolidation difference equations of double layer soft soil,which are solved by difference method,was proposed.And it was a new method for complex status function in en-gineering practice.The mechanical researches showed that consolidation coefficient was not unique index govern-ing the non-linear consolidation behavior of double layer soft soil.Therefore,various factors should be considered systemacally.
