Application of high order coherence technique in the fault detection in coal field

  • As Chinese coal geology conditions are complicated, the mine disasters are frequent.Majority of water inrushes in mine floor have the direct relation with faults.Therefore, to find out the size and distribution of faults is one of the main targets in seismic survey.High order coherence algorithm combines the higher-order statistical method with coherence cube technology from the view of enhancing the ability to suppress noises and to reduce the amount of computing points.A new algorithm to compute coherent bodies on the basis of higher-order statistical amount was introduced.High order coherence technique has been applied in real fault detection in the coal fields and achieved good results.
