Test study on load transfer performances of squeezed branch pile

  • Based on large-scale model test of eight squeezed branch piles and piles with equivalent diameter, static load test of single pile and test results of pile body resistance have been studied and analyzed. The study indicates that load-settlement curve of squeezed branch piles changes slowly and the piles behave mechanical features of end-bearing pile under the action of vertical load. Nature of foundation soil, span and diameter of pile, diameter and amount of plate and vertical spacing between piles are main factors influencing bearing capacity of squeezed branch piles. The test and study results provide valuable parameters and experimental data for engineering application of squeezed branch pile. In the engineering case, squeezed branch pile compared with traditional borehole pile, bearing capacity of single pile increased by 89%, construction cost saved by 28% (5.41 million Yuan), construction period shortened by 52 days.
