Preparation and properties of acrylate grouting material used in coal mine

  • Water leakage control on the coal mine roof is an inevitable challenge in the process of coal mining. In this regard, chemical grouting provides an effective method to solve this problem. Specifically, acrylate grouting materials were prepared using the synthesized magnesium acrylate solution, cross-linking agent, initiator, and accelerator as the raw materials. Based on this, the effects of the concentration of magnesium acrylates, the type and dosage of crosslinking agent and the dosage of initiator on the properties of the gels of the acrylate grouting materials were investigated. The test results indicate that the type and dosage of crosslinking agent plays a crucial role in the gel properties. Compared with acrylate grouting material prepared using diethylene glycol diacrylate as the crosslinking agent, the acrylate grouting material prepared employing 2-(Dimethylamino) ethyl methacrylate as the crosslinking agent presents better comprehensive performance. Specifically, the compressive strength of sand consolidation body is greater than 200 kPa, the expansion rate in water is higher than 50%, and the elongation at break exceeds 1000%. Furthermore, this highly-elastic acrylate grouting material exhibits the excellent groutability, anti-permeability, anti-extrusion and bonding with rock sample. Thus, it can be applied for water leakage control of coal mine roof.
