Digital twin technology of geological information in mining and excavation working face

  • The mine geology transparency is the basis for the intelligent coal mine construction. 3D geological modeling is an important measure for realizing the mine geology transparency. In the geological modeling of the previous working face, there are problems including the discrepancy between the interpolation algorithm and the geological law, the low fusion level of the multi-source heterogeneous geological data, and the seldom coupling between the coal mine production equipment and the geological information. The concept of the digital twin of the geological information about coal mine working face was proposed, the discrete smooth interpolation (DSI) algorithm was adopted, and the drilling data and seismotectonics interpretation data were utilized for geological modeling, so as to establish the comprehensive geological model obtained through the iterative computation after the DSI parallel similar restriction. The 3D geological modeling software was developed; the building of four geological objects, i.e. the point (geological observation point), boundary (geological boundary and stratigraphic boundary), interface (3D geologic interface) and body (closed geologic body) was fulfilled; the cubic grid function was developed based on the body object; the attribute interpolation of the spatial data within the body object was carried out based on the regional statistical algorithm. The modeling software was used to establish the geological model carrier of the digital twin at the mining and excavation working face. The monitoring systems for microseism, electric resistivity, seismic while tunneling and seismic while ming were connected to fulfill the real-time data monitoring, realize the digital twin of the geological information about the working face, and reflect the geological change under the mining and tunneling disturbance. The scenario simulation and tunneling planning tunnel fault curve plotting based on the geological model were provided for the coal mine tunneling, so as to guide the tunnelling machine in independent tunneling, provide the distance warning against the geological anomaly at the location ahead tunneling, and ensure the geological safety for the tunneling. The scenario simulation and the planning cutting curves based on the geological model were provided for the mining face, so as to guide the coal mining machine in independent planning cutting, provide the distance warning against the geologically abnormal structure location and the stress concentration location ahead the stoping, and enhance the safety in stoping operation. This technology was applied in the Tangjiahui Coal Mine of Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, providing geological guarantee for safe, efficient mining and tunneling operation.
