PETROGRAPHIC CHARACTERISTICS AND COAL FACIES OF JURASSIC COAL IN YILI BASIN,XINJIANG

  • Utilizing the coal-petrographic method, the petrographic characteristics of Jurassic coal in Yili Basin are discussed, and nine coal facies are divided,i.e dry forest swamp facies (including two subfacies),wet forest swamp facies (three subfacies),mixed herbaceous and arboreous type swamp facies or reed bog facies (three subfacies) and open water peat swamp facies.By the coal facies analysis,an evidence is provided for the coal-forming environment in Yilli Basin.
