Analysis and prospect on hydraulic fracturing fluid used in coalbed methane well

  • Based on advantages and disadvantages of the fracturing fluids commonly used in coalbed methane, their performances are summarized, especial for foam fracturing fluids and clean fracturing fluids. Combining the laboratory data and the actual application effects, N2 is suitable for the foam fracturing fluids, and the performances of the clean fracturing fluids should be improved, mostly in synthesis condition, and inside gel breaking technology should be studied to reduce the gel breaker amount and protect the environment. There are some issues in coalbed methane fracturing fluid: advanced technology is hard to popularize; traditional fracturing fluid makes great harm to the reservoir; the cost of new type fracturing fluid is high and the craft is complicated. Meanwhile some countermeasures are given: suitable traditional fraturing fluid gel breaking system should be studied for different sensibility reservoir and the craft should be optimized. Finally the development future of fracturing fluid is: high-efficiency, low damage, low cost, and it's important to begin to study hydrophobic associated polymers-VES clean fracturing fluid system.
