Abstract: On the basis of amounts of documents retrieval,the mechanism and influencing factors of fault sealing are concluded and analyzed.The foreign and domestic qualitative and quantitative methods for fault sealing study are systemically summarized.Then the conclusion is drawn that the information of seismic,logging,well-drilling,reservoir geochemistry and even production performance should be integrated in fault sealing study and the investigation should be systematic and dynamic.Then the key issues of future fault sealing research are put forward.
