Abstract: The studing areas are located in Zhuozi and Helan Mountains region. Its carboniferous strata are mainly composed of elastic rocks, including a little of carbonate. The stratigraphic seguence is divided into the Jiangyuan Formation （C¹₂）. Yanghugou Formation （C²₂） and Taiyuan Formation （C₃）.The sedimentary factes are a typical delta depositinal system. The upper delta plain is the best coal-bearing environment.
